WHAT IS IELTS?

(IELTS) International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. It covers the four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking.

IELTS tests are held in over 900 centres with tests up to four times a month. IELTS respects international diversity and is fair to anyone who sits the test, regardless of nationality

IELTS HAS TWO MODULES: GENERAL TRAINING AND ACADEMIC

The General Training module is usually taken by people who want to immigrate, and the Academic module is taken by people who want to study abroad. It is essential that you check with the receiving country or institution to find out which module you need to take. It is your responsibility to choose the right module. Both modules are made up of four parts: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

WHO RECOGNISES IELTS?

IELTS is recognized for course admission by universities in many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, and the UK. In the USA, IELTS Test is now recognized by more than 1400 institutions including 7 out of 8 Ivy League Schools, but please be cautious as not all universities in the USA accept IELTS. HOW RELIABLE IS THE TEST?

You can trust the quality and security of IELTS because it is managed by three reputable, international organizations: British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL).

BRITISH COUNCIL OR IDP?

IELTS test centers in India are run by either the British Council or IDP Education Australia.All test centers are monitored and follow the IELTS Code of Practice. All IELTS Examiners are trained, certificated, and monitored to ensure a standardized testing and assessment system around the world.

International English Language Testing System tests the complete range of English language skills. It is a paper based test for English aptitude at any level for foreign universities. This exam is conducted worldwide by British Council, UK and IDP, Australia. IELTS test is available in two formats academic and general. For admissions to educational Institutions academic module is required and general module is for immigration.

It is an internationally-recognized system for testing English language skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking.

Exam Pattern: (Total Time : 2hrs 45mins)

Reading Section: 3 Sections, Time Allotted – 20 mins. for each section

Listening Section: 4 Section, Time Allotted – 30 mins.

Speaking Section: 11 to 15 mins.

Writing Section: 2 Sections, Time Allotted – 20 mins for 1section and 40 mins for other section

IELTS is out of 9.0 bands.
